    • Biplab Halder and Sanjoy Das: 23 and 20 years of age respectively, they live in Basanti Colony slum that was burnt to ashes twice between 2001 and 2009 near Bidhannagar Railway Platform. Both dropped out of school while in 8th standard. They were working as rag-pickers when they joined open school and completed Xth standard of schooling. They are currently working in Kwality Walls at City Center, Salt Lake city.

    • Jayanti Bhoumik, a successful girl of 22 years age, lives in Promodnagar colony near Dum Dum Cantonment area. This area has been settled since 1985. Here, nearly 1500 families had resettled after they were displaced due to the Metro Railway development in Kolkata. Living in a slum, she completed a food and beverage course and she is presently employed in a restaurant named Red Xpress in Sector V of Salt Lake City.

    • Banti Pandey and Indrajit Bera now work in Brick and Click of Egle Software company as data entry operators. Banti, 26 and Indrajit 23 years of age are from DumDum Rabindranagar Colony had no dream of even earning to manage and support themselves. While they were in the look out of any work that will bring them a minimum financial support, intervention of something meaningful brought them to their feet and helped them gain confidence. Both now can dream for the better. Life has become interesting for them. Indrajit, now can brave his physical disability and go ahead with strong determination as anyone of the others in the mainstream.

    • Gouri Ghosh, Ratan Biswas and Raja Halder: All of them are working in IKF as data entry operators. Raja’s father owns a tea shop and hardly can make two ends meet Ratan’s mother is a house maid while Gouri realised that being a woman of her stature must do something meaningful in life to make it dignified. Thus all these girl and boys, once had no idea to meet the challenges, came close to their destination by sheer willpower and support.
